Rice Pow Wow Recap

Last week, Rice Consulting held it’s quarterly PowWow at the Generator in Auckland. The event was a big success and close to 100 HR and Recruitment professionals attended, all eager to network and learn more about Xref and the hot topic, candidate fraud.

I was given the pleasure of discussing the challenges of verifying candidate details as well as elaborating on the three founding pillars of Xref: protection from; discrimination, security breaches and fraud.

By focusing on the latter I aimed to reveal some tips on how to detect potential fraud and briefly explain how the Xref platform protects against such threats. One of the unique selling points is that Xref captures numerous metrics such as I.P addresses, geographical location, browser type and device to help verify that the reference is legitimate.

The evening generated lots of interest about the Xref platform and it provided a great opportunity to connect with recruiters from a wide range of organisations who were keen to find out more.

The complementary drinks and pizza went down a treat!... particularly the leftovers which were given to a homeless man outside.

All in all it was a great experience and I would highly recommend attending the next quarter’s event just before Christmas. If you would like to find out more about Xref then please contact me at becky.bean@xref.co.nz
